Hello! My name is Ms. Jessica, and I am so excited to be teaching here at Hamline Elementary School. I graduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, with a degree in Secondary and Music Education with a license to teach vocal, instrumental, and classroom music. Throughout my over 15 years in education I have taught classroom and vocal music to every grade level, PreK-12. I started teaching in the St Paul School District in 2021 and joined the Hamline Elementary Family in 2024.
Music and performing have always been a part of my life. I have been a member of marching bands, concert bands, pep bands, and jazz bands from 5th grade until I graduated from college. I started playing piano in 2nd grade, clarinet in 5th grade, tenor saxophone in 9th grade. I have sung in many different choirs starting in middle school and are still performing today. I have sung with the USD Men's and Women's Chorus, the St. Kate's Choral Society, the Cathedral Choir at the Cathedral of St. Paul, and am currently a member of Minnesota's LGBTA One Voice Mixed Choir.
I live in the Hamline Midway neighborhood in Saint Paul with my husband, daughter, and three cats. We spend a lot of family time together playing, reading books, watching movies, going to the zoo, swimming, playing at the park, or traveling to visit family.

In our classroom we will be using QuaverMusic which is designed with elementary school students in mind. Throughout the year I’ll use engaging songs, activities, lessons, interactives, and prompts. Many lessons offer music and movement - it’s sure to be a great year!
