English Language Learners
General Vang Pao visits Hamline

Hamline Elementary has an English Language Learner (ELL) Program to serve non-native English speaking students.   ELL Teachers work with the ELL students in obtaining a more advanced level of English language acquisition.  These teachers work with their students in a variety of settings, including team teaching in the mainstream classroom as well as small

ELL students perform "Little Red Hen"
group literacy and language instruction.   Kindergarten's English Language Program in our building is the Kindergarten Language Development Model (KLDM).  With this model an ELL Teacher and mainstream teacher work together to give intensive language support to Kindergarten students who are at the beginning stages of English language acquisition.
